| Treaty of Edgardia, between Kingdom of Storjord and the Empire of the Alexandrians. Section I: Preamble 1) In order to promote peace between our two great nations, the Kingdom of Storjord (hereafter referred to as 'Storjord') and the Empire of the Alexandrians (hereafter referred to as 'Alexandria') agree to full diplomatic representation and a perpetual state of peace to exist between the two nations. 2) Furthermore, we believe that it is in the best interests of both nations that a union of them take place, with the incorporation of Storjord into the extended Alexandrian Hegemony. Section II: Responsibilities 1) Storjord, although recognizing ultimate authority of the Emperor of the Alexandrians, would retain their King, and all powers associated with that office. 2) All current Storjorders would recieve full and immediate Alexandrian citizenship, if they so wish, and all future Alexandrian citizens would also become Storjorder citizens, if they so wish. 3) The King shall be appointed, by the Emperor, to a position of nobility within Alexandria. The Emperor shall consider inducting the King into the House of Portela. 4) Storjord shall keep all aspects of its military, government, and internal affairs intact, although the Storjord Defense Forces shall be asked to repsect the Command structure of the Grand Armed Forces of the Empire. 5) Storjord shall maintain all elements of its foreign affairs, although they must not contradict Alexandria's foreign policy. All military pacts between Storjord and other nations must be terminated. The Alexandrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall coordinate diplomatic procedure with the Storjord Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 6) Alexandria shall extend full protection over Storjord, and guarantees Storjord's full territorial sovereignty. An attack on Storjord shall be treated as an attack upon Alexandria. 7) Laws passed by Alexandria pertaining to major changes in foreign policy, military policy, and/or internal affairs and government, shall have to be ratified by the Storjorder government. 8) Alexandria and Storjord shall provide links to each other's forums, from their own forums. 10) The Alexandrian legal system shall replace the Storjorder legal system. Section III: Enaction 1) This Treaty and Union shall go into effect as soon as both governments have approved it via their established ways. 2) Either nation is free to negate the union at any time; however, such a negation must be approved by the established ways of the government of the nation, and a 48 prior notice must be released before dissolution. 3) Should the union be dissolved at any future time, all Storjorders shall be welcome to remain as Alexandrian citizens and viceversa. |
