IDEAS FOR THE ALEXANDRIAN CONSTITUTION

This is an open dabet for our party is still debating the positions to take in the writing processes. I invite our ANLP friends to unite with us in this.

QUOTE
The UMP believes in wriritng a national constitution in which we can see an evident advance of democracy in our nation. We believe that opening more offices for election of the people would be an important way. We believe in grating more power to the people.

A New Legislature – we have to show the people that class should not be a barrier. The UMP suggests getting rid of the division of the estates and set up a bi-cameral imperial parliament this parliament would be divided into a national assembly and a Senate.

New Courts, Better Justice – we have to build our national court system and make sure that justice is always served because each and every Alexandrian deserves it. This means that to appoint supreme court justices the legislature must confirm it and ensue that the justices have experience and knowledge.

A New Elections Commission – an elections commission that is composed by 3 people: the prime Minister, a member elected by the legislature and one chosen by the people. Each member of the elections commission would serve for only one election (four months) and the PM won’t sit on the commission if the elections concern him and for the election of the first legislature an individual will be appointed by the Emperor.
Normalization and simplification of the Empire's elections through:
a) a national list system - to increase competitiveness and the role of the party, and to reduce the number of ballots;
B) four parliamentary elections annually held at three month intervals - to increase competitiveness, interest, and opportunity to participate;
c) two Prime Ministerial elections annually held at six month intervals and coinciding with legislature elections - to reduce the number of separate ballotings, and to create a 'midterm election' that will bring dynamism to executive-legislative relations.

An Accountable Prime Minister – the prime minister will be elected by popular vote and can be removed by popular vote, sort of like a recall like in California. Prime minister can also be impeached and/or removed by a vote of no confidence in the lgislature.

We could model our constitution to that of france as well, but I dunno much about france’s government I only know what I learned in my world studies class! Hahahaha
