| Treaty of Las Cruces, between the Republic of Las Cruces and the Empire of the Alexandrians. His Majesty the Emperor of Alexandria and President Jose Agustin Allende, having in view the special and close relations between their respective countries, desiring to promote the common wealth of the two nations and to assure permanent peace in their relations, and being convinced that these objectives can be best attained by the annexation of Las Cruces to the Empire of the Alexandrians, have resolved to conclude a treaty of such annexation and have, upon mutual conference and deliberation, agreed to the following articles: Article 1. President Jose Agustin Allende makes the complete and permanent cession to His Majesty the Emperor of Alexandria of all rights of sovereignty over the whole of Las Cruces. Article 2. His Majesty the Emperor of Alexandria accepts the cession mentioned in the preceding article and consents to the complete annexation of Las Cruces to the Empire of Alexandria. Article 4. His Majesty the Emperor of Alexandria will confer peerage and monetary grants upon those Las Cruceans who, on account of meritorious services, are regarded as deserving such special recognition. Article 5. In consequence of the aforesaid annexation the Government of Alexandria assumes the entire government and administration of Las Cruces, and undertakes to afford full protection for the persons and property of Las Cruceans obeying the laws there in force to promote the welfare of all such Las Cruceans. Article 8. This treaty, having been approved by His Majesty the Emperor of Alexandria and President Jose Agustin Allende, shall take effect accordingly to national law and custom. |
