HIH Prince Enrique Portela - August 1, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
I fully support this amendment.
HIH Prince Gabriel-Sebastien - August 2, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
If Enrique thinks it is ok, I wil support it as well.
Josephine Behaurnais - August 2, 2005 10:53 AM (GMT)
I refuse to be a part of this. If a daughter of mine isn't good enough to take the throne then no child of mine is good enough for any titles or privelages that come with our lifestyle.
Jean Michel Leclerc - August 2, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
I see the point of the Empress but understand that we need a strict set of laws for succession to be in place also.
Josephine Behaurnais - August 2, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)

I totally agree with you Sr Leclerc. However, if a daughter isn't as good a son and is not allowed to take her rightful place in succession then I will petition all I can to strip them of any royal titles much like Princess Anne did with Peter Phillips and Zara.
Jean Michel Leclerc - August 2, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)
Oh i feel all sexes should be equal in succession; don't wanna end up like the Norweigians now do we!?!
HIH Prince Enrique Portela - August 3, 2005 11:25 AM (GMT)
Gents i dont know what to tell you. I support the amendment.
Emperor Edgard II - August 9, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
I move for a vote. Any seconds?
HIH Prince Enrique Portela - August 10, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
HIH Prince Gabriel-Sebastien - August 10, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
shes gone folks, might as well vote yes.
Jacques Clement Guelfin - August 10, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
Damien Clouseau - August 11, 2005 05:24 PM (GMT)
If this means only those of a male gender can become head of state, than I must respectfully vote NON in the interests of gender equality.
HIH Prince Enrique Portela - August 11, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
Russell duBois - August 12, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Non. Humanist Values do not endorse or condone chauvinist laws; making a National position exclusive to one gender only.
Jean Michel Leclerc - August 12, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
Sir Vindrus York - August 13, 2005 01:34 PM (GMT)
I vote OUI, male succession has part of our history and culture in Alexandria.
I favor the stability and preservation of the monarchy by maintaining the current male only succession, this is an issue about preserving our culture.
Merci,
Russell duBois - August 14, 2005 09:51 AM (GMT)
If I may interject in response to the remarks of Sir York:
Human Rights must take precedence over any culture, as it is evident, culture is never always conceived with the rights of humanity in mind, and more rather, the purposes of the few who enforce such culture.
I find it very discouraging, but motivating no less, that the gentlemen in position to protect the freedoms and fairness of the country and it's people should see that equality and democracy has it's place anywhere else but inside the halls of the Imperial Palaces.
No man should deserve to lead this nation when it is he that prevents a woman from doing the same without just reason.
Sir Vindrus York - August 14, 2005 01:10 PM (GMT)
Mr. duBois,
I appreciate your comments.
This is not about gender equality for me, it is about the preservation and stability of the Alexandrian Monarchy; in which the current state is acceptable.
In other words, there is no need to modify the succession laws to allow women access to the 'Throne' because we are not in the position where we have no male heirs, once we need to broaden the succession pool to include women is when we should change the laws.
Merci,
Vindrus York
Jean Michel Leclerc - August 14, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Interesting. What should i be bearing in mind?
Russell duBois - August 15, 2005 10:35 PM (GMT)
The Law should not be discriminatory in the first place. Human rights should not be back-seated just because the situation doesn't fit Sir York, respectfully.
HIH Prince Gabriel-Sebastien - August 15, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)
