Newly sworn in Prime Minister Ciervo delievered the following speech today following the Inauguration.

| Alexandria! We did it again! Thank you, Alexandria! I am honored to stand here as your new Prime Minister. To be elected to serve you once more is humbling. I would like to thank the other candidates for a spirited debate. Alexandria’s first debate between each of the candidates allowed for us the opportunity to share our positions and plans in a way that has never been done before in our history. I, for one, am grateful for the opportunity in which I had to participate in such an event. Mr. Bertrand and Mr. Francois put up quite a fight, and I must say that I enjoyed each and every moment of this electoral season. I believed that regardless of the winner of the election, Alexandria would have had a strong leader who would help Alexandria prosper. Gentlemen, great work on putting up strong campaigns. For my final term as Prime Minister, I will focus most of my energy in eradicating the threat of inactivity. I will do all that I can to ensure that our Imperial Parliament and other government bodies do not fall into the same state. I can’t do this alone-not by a long shot. Each and every citizen will have role to play in the next four months. Through our cooperation, determination, and diligence, we will be able to overcome this obstacle that has been placed before us. In this term, I will also work to bring about a functioning economy. It is time Alexandria had one. We are a strong group of individuals who can accomplish much if we set our minds to it. A functioning economy is going to need every citizen’s participation. This is a large task that we are setting out to accomplish, but I have faith in this Empire’s citizens, and I know that we will be able to create a functioning economy. As Prime Minister, it is my constitutional duty to nominate individuals to serve in the Imperial Cabinet. I would like to take this moment to nominate one individual, and appoint another. To begin, for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, I nominate His Imperial Highness, Prince Enrique. In the past, I have had the opportunity to serve as the Deputy Prime Minister. During my tenure as Prime Minister, I haven’t seen the position as a necessity because I, as the Deputy hardly did anything. However, today, I am appointing Nicholas Bertrand as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Empire of the Alexandrians. As the Deputy Prime Minister, Nicholas Bertrand will serve as an advisor to me and the Imperial Cabinet. I believe that Mr. Bertrand has much to offer this Empire and as Deputy Prime Minister, he will be given the opportunity to do so. Alexandria, we have much work to do. I am up for the challenge and I hope you are too. Let us put aside our personal differences and work to rid inactivity, work to create a functioning economy, and work to create a better Alexandria. |
