Education Act
An act establishing the principles of education in Alexandria.
BE IT ENACTED by the Emperor's most Excellent Imperial Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Members of Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Article 1 - The Provider of Education
a) The sole provider of education in the Empire of the Alexandrians shall be the University of Geneva.
b) The Chancellor of the University of Geneva will organise the University and the how he sees fit, subject to the approval of an independent Board of Studies.
c) The Chancellor of the University of Geneva will be appointed by His Imperial Majesty The Emperor.
d) The following courses must be offered by the University of Geneva;
i) Law
ii) Military Studies
iii) International Affairs
iv) Politics and Government
v) Economics.
Article 2 - Qualifications
a) There shall three forms of qualifications.
i) The lowest qualification shall be termed "Qualified In", abbreviated to QI.
ii) The middle qualification shall be termed "Learned In", abbreviated to LI.
iii) The highest qualification shall be termed "Mastered In", abbreviated to MI.
b) Each qualification will be capable of three separate sub divisions of "Passed", "With Merit" and "With Distinction".
c) Each qualification is gained upon progression from a previous qualification i.e a person may only work for an LI if he has previously a QI.
Article 3 - Use of Qualifications
a) The Ministry of Finance shall be required to a maximum of 3% increase to salaries of Government employees with a QI.
b) The Ministry of Finance shall be required to consider a maximum of 7% increase to salaries of Government employees with an LI.
c) The Ministry of Finance shall be required to consider a maximum of 10% increase to salaries of Government employees with an MI.
d) Employees of a Government Ministry, which does not include politically appointed Ministers, will be required to have a qualification which relates to their area of work, i.e Ministry of Justice official must have a QI in Law.
e) Article 3, section d also applies to members of the armed forces who must have a QI in Military Studies.
Article 4 - Assent.
a) This bill will become law once it receives royal assent.
