| National Service Act Part 1 Article 1. This Act shall be entitled the National Service Act 2008. Article 2. It shall be compulsory for all persons covered by this act to undertake a form of national service as specified in Part 2 Article 1 of this Act. Article 3. This Act covers all Alexandrian citizens who are not covered by Part 2 Article 2 of this Act.. Article 4. National service must begin by an eligible person's twenty fifth birthday. Article 5. Failure to comply shall result in a loss of electoral and civil rights for a period specified by the High Court. The Minimum period shall be three months and the maximum one year. Part 2. Article 1. A list of acceptable forms of national service shall be kept by the Ministry of the Interior. It shall include, but shall not be limited to work in the Military, Civil Police, Border Guard, Coastguard and Lifeboat services and Mountain and Cave Rescue services. Article 2. Persons with certified mental disabilities and those with physical disabilities or health problems which are certified by a doctor to make the person unfit for any form of national service are excluded from this act. Additionally any person not resident in a province with Parliamentary representation is exempt from this Act. Part 3. Article 1. This act shall become law upon receiving Royal Assent. |
