The Empire of the Alexandrians > 5th Imperial Parliament > EMERGENCY RESOLUTION

Title: EMERGENCY RESOLUTION
Description: Authorization of Allied Troops

Emperor Edgard II - January 5, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
QUOTE
WHEREAS the defense of the homeland is an ever-pressing concern for the Empire of the Alexandrians; AND

WHEREAS the escalation of hostilities between New Brittania and Lovely could quickly descend into an armed conflict that could see the Imperial Government committing itself to entering any armed conflict in support of the Grand Commonwealth, which in turn supports New Brittania; AND

WHEREAS such armed conflict could indeed bring the Alexandrian homeland into unprecedented vulnerability from Lovelyite offensives; AND

WHEREAS our allies have offered to send the necessary aid to the Empire of the Alexandrians should an armed conflict ever explode; AND

WHEREAS the National Defense Act of 2005 specifies that only the Imperial Parliament can authorize the entry of foreign troops into Alexandrian soil;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Imperial Parliament of the Empire of the Alexandrians that:

1. The Imperial Parliament of the Empire of the Alexandrians hereby grants His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, with advice and consent of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense, permission and full discretion to allow foreign allied troops to be stationed in Alexandrian soil until it has been determined that there is no more direct, pressing threats to Alexandria or when the troop's respective governments decide to remove their troops;

2. The Imperial Parliament of the Empire of the Alexandrians hereby allows access to Alexandrian ports and airspace to all foreign allied sea and air vessels, and will allow the Ministry of Defense to allocate proper facilities for the hosting of foreign allied forces;

3. Decides to remain seized of the matter.

This Resolution will take effect immediately upon passage.

I hope that the Imperial Parliament moves quickly to pass this resolution and grant trust to the Imperial Government to authorize friendly allied troops to be hosted in our territory, just in case an armed conflict with the Kingdom of Lovely should explode.

I urge Parliament to act on this matter as soon as possible and to come to a conclusion promptly.

Thank you.

my lords, honorable parliemnt ministers-

it is with deep reghard that i have thought about this. alexandria has been attacked in the past by lovely and our allies stormark & the commonwealth came to our aid i believe that alexandria should do the same for them this time. we are regarded highly by them this is an opportunity we cannot pass by. i would like to state my full support for this war with a loud OUI.

Poiters. MP for PN.

Pete James - January 5, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
I feel this goes against the grain of our current intellegence. I feel we need a time limit of the amount of time troops me enter for.

Jon - January 9, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Mr. Speaker,

It is my belief that our allies will respect our wishes if we were to request that they depart our lands. They have come to our assistance in the past and it is our duty and privilege to assist them.

I concur with the Prime Minister, and I move for a vote ASAP on this resolution.

Pete James - January 10, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
I vote no. The threat is over..

Jacques de Beaufort - January 12, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
I beg your apologies but due to my recent travelling I was unable to follow this matter. Where do we stand regarding Lovely? what is the outcome of this? Has a war on our allies been declerd? or even onto us?

Sincerely,

hard_right - January 12, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
I recant my motion to vote, since it seems that the matter is over with because Lovely backed down.

Graius - January 12, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
Gentlemen, I am not sure if it is my place to speak here, but as Chief of the Commonwealth Defence Staff I can say that the Kingdom of Lovely has indeed backed down and the threat is over. The bill no longer needs to be considered, but we thank you greatly for your support in this matter.

AugustoBenavides - January 12, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
I am not sure if are supposed to speak in here either, but don't worry the gentlemen behind you are diplomatic security agents.

Pete James - January 13, 2007 02:58 PM (GMT)
