Title: Imperial Cousin
Description: A Note Regarding Nea Hestia

Osman Shahanshah - November 12, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
Imperial Cousin,

Please accept my sincere greetings and felicitations on behalf of the Grand Commonwealth and its Taoiseach the Maharajadhiraja Jalamdhara of Karnali.

As you are aware the Grand Commonwealth and the Kingdom of Paulovia are currently engaged in a serious dispute concerning their colonisation of the island of Nea Hestia in the Greater Minorcan Archipelago.

The details of the situation can be found in the thread detailing the claim lodged at the GSO.
Although may I also draw your attention to official Commonwealth deployments announced by the Chancellery of Defence. Although there are standing orders for Commonwealth vessels to engage Paulovian shipping wherever found this has not yet occurred and making use of the relative peace afforded by the absence of actual military contact at this time the Taoiseach has provided me with a special plenipotentiary commission to resolve the situation by whatever means necessary. To that end I have initiated dialogue with the Royal Paulovian Government through diplomatic channels with regards to a peaceful and civilised solution to the conflict.

Imperial Cousin, the Grand Commonwealth should like to ask for the continued benevolence and support of the Empire of the Alexandrians with regards to these negotiations, regardless of their outcome, in the tradition and spirit of the old alliance between our two dominions which holds strong to this day.

Indeed it is the opinion of the Commonwealth that the situation in the Greater Minorcan Archipelago will be best resolved by the three great powers putting together a comprehensive diplomatic agreement covering the Principality of Corcovado, Minorca & al-Manar, the Isle of Avalon and of course Nea Hestia, whose fate is currently being determined, and would take a form similar to those already negotiated by Stormark to cover the Isle of Avalon.

Dearest Imperial Cousin,

It is of great joy for me to see you visiting Alexandria and Ourselves here at Wesloderia. Thank you for your visit and for keeping Us posted on the contentious matter of Nea Hestia.

Dear Cousin, the Empire of the Alexandrians stands commited to the agreements and treaties to the Grand Commonwealth. We greatly value the friendship we have built together, and we will continue to value and honor it by remaining commited to the Grand Commonwealth in this matter.

I am very content to see that diplomacy has prevailed as the medium for the resolution of this conflict. Alexandria is in a very strange position, being committed in treaties to all sides of the Minorca Archipelago conflict. We are committed to Paulovia by the Novasolum Pact, we are also committed to Stormark via our Fleur-de-Lis-Longships Treaty and to the Grand Commonwealth via our Treaty of Georgetown. I am adamant about the need for a satisfactory diplomatic resolution to this matter, which is taking place so close to one of our Empire's territorial jewels, the Principality of Corcovado.

Speaking for the Alexandrian Government as well as the people of Alexandria, I fully concur with You, Imperial Cousin, on this specific opinion. A comprehensive diplomatic agreement between our nations on the contentious matters at hand on the Minorca Archipelago will be of most benefit to all, and it shall keep the peace and prosperity of Giess intact.

Continue to keep us informed of this matter, Imperial Cousin.

Thank you.
