Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Gordon,
I am gravely concerned with our Speaker. He is currently inactive, and I am afraid that the much-needed Economy Act won't be passed by the Estates-General in a while.
I am considering two options:
- Calling on a vote of no confidence on the Speaker or;
- Assuming direct rule for now.
I do not want to be a despot, and I truly believe in the cause of democracy. I wish for that Act to be passed in the Estates!
We need an active Speaker ASAP, so I was thinking that maybe we could go with the first option.
I was hoping to get your perspective on this matter, Monsieur Gordon. What do you think is the appropriate course of action to take?
On regards to the Economy Act, I think I should pass it as a Imperial Decree, but I would need your countersignature.
Indeed, I support the Act and we very much need an active Estates-General.
Of course, I trust you would never become a despot. I would suggest, YIM, that we immediately begin a vote of no-confidence in the Speaker, on the grounds of his inactivity. If necessary, perhaps you could assume some roles of the Speaker for a short period, until election. After all, it is only presiding over votes and such for the most part, correct?
I hope I have been of service, YIM.
I think that would be a wise idea, Monsieur Gordon. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer the position to someone else ASAP.
Thank you for your wise counsel, dear friend.
