Title: Foreign Affairs Emergency

Emperor Edgard II - December 2, 2005 01:39 PM (GMT)
Members of Parliament,

I come to you today to ask your help in a matter of the gravest importance. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth has recently annexed a government which is no government, but a tyranny of one man - the Dinarchy of Antica. This was done through the Treaty of Aquilaria. The people which truly deserve the land of the Dinarchy is the Republic of Antica. Attera and several other nations intend to voice their concern to Shireroth, and we, as an important micronation, cannot stand down and remain quiet about this pressing issue.

It is in the vital interest of the Alexandrian people that we must stand with our brothers and allies of the Republic of Antica to reclaim the land that rightfully belongs to them. Their history, their culture, their nation is based there - we cannot allow Shireroth to take their land away because the tyrannical Dinarchy, of which they broke off, decided to allow it as a final blow to the Republic.

It is also in the vital interest of the Alexandrian people that we work with other micronations to curb the growth of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. Shireroth already spans throughout all of the micronational globe and to allow them to expand would place our interests and that of our allies in serious jeopardy.

Therefore I invite and request your support and immediate approval on the following declaration:

QUOTE
DECLARATION OF NAFTICON

Whereas we have observed with alarm the growth of Shirerithian power over the proceeding year;
And whereas the Imperial Republic of Shireroth has annexed by treaty the government of the Dinarchy of Antica, which some recognize as no government at all,
Let it be known that the undersigned nations declare the following:

1. That the aforementioned treaty, the Treaty of Aquilaria, is unacceptable to the parties of this declaration and furthermore to the micronational community at large.
2. We therefore request the repeal of the aforesaid treaty by the appropriate organs of state within Shireroth.
3. We furthermore let it known that the terms of the aforesaid treaty are held to be illegal by the respective signatories, and will not be respected if kept in place.
4. The signatories declare that as the sole surviving government of Antica, the Antican Republic be granted full rights to all Antican land on the MCS.
5. We furthermore declare that no future annexations by the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, or any successor state, shall be judged as lawful by the body of nations.
6. It is furthermore stated that the claim of the Grand Commonwealth to Lac Glacei is supported by the signatory nations.
7. We, the signatory nations, pledge our support to the terms of this declaration through whatever means may become necessary.

Signed,

I wish to make a strong statement on behalf of the Alexandrian people.

I wish to be able to sign this declaration knowing that the Imperial Parliament of Alexandria is backing it.

I call upon the Imperial Parliament to uphold the friendships and alliances we have forged with our allies over this past year - and I call upon the Imperial Parliament to uphold and protect the interests of the Empire of the Alexandrians.

I ask this Parliament to pass this Declaration as is as soon as possible, not for myself, but for the people of the Republic of Antica.

Thank you.

Mr Speaker,

As far as I see it, we have a Treaty with the Republic of Antica and that treaty forces us to do something. We must take action and honour our diplomatic ties.

Claude Peterson - December 2, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
An emergency vote shall be held, voting may begin.

AugustoBenavides - December 2, 2005 05:47 PM (GMT)
Should the Parliament consider Military intervention or at least prevent that on their deliberations.

Your Majesty, the Imperial Navy is ready to deploy in case of any eventuality.

I yield the floor,
