THE REFORM PARTY OF ALEXANDRIA

Today marks a great point in Alexandria’s history. The Reform Party has been set up because I feel that the current Parliament needs to be held accountable for not representing the people and for being inactive. I also feel that there should be more citizen involvement in the government. Our Founding statement is that Alexandria be a Strong and Vibrant Micronation.

Founding Principle: That Alexandria be a Strong and Vibrant Micronation
Party Organization: To be determined as more people join it

OUR PLATFORM:
Immigration:
• Have more scrutinizing done by the Minister of the Interior before acceptance of applicants;
• Establishment of a Citizenship Test;

Binding Citizen Referendums
• Give Alexandrians a way to exercise thire democratic voice more than once every three months;
• Alexandrians should be able to recall their officials at all levels of government if they are not content with them and replace them;
• Referendum and initiative should be rights for every Alexandrian citizen to have.

Constitutional Referendum
• Alexandrians should decide whether the constitutional draft worked on by the Parliament will be there Constitution or not.

Citizens Council as Supreme Court
• Let the citizens have the final say in important court cases.
• It will be the final court of appeal.

No Church Role in Government
• The Established Church and any other religious organizations have to be treated equally and without any particular preference.

Enjoy a successful economy
• Building a vibrant economy in which no Alexandrian is left behind – progress comes for all of the people who participate in the economy.
• Protectionism is the way to ensure that our economy takes off well.
• Separate the Economics Portfolio from the Imperial Bank of Alexandria

MITERRAND TRAVELED THROUGH THE PROVINCE OF VALENCIENNES PRESENTING HIS NEW PLATFORM AND HIS NEW POLITICAL PARTY

""The people of the empire NEED TO HAVE the powers in their hands not on the hands of elite alexandrians...""

Jean Michel Leclerc - November 17, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
This is a pro-monarchist form of reform I take it?

Jacques Clement Guelfin - November 17, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
pro-monarchist in the sense that we keep the EMPEROR YES, but we want to revise the role of the Emperor in Alexandrian society

the REFORM PARTY would like to propose a ban on members of the imperial family participating in national politics

we also have these legislations to propose:

OPEN PARLIAMENT ACT

QUOTE

OPEN PARLIAMENT ACT
Whereas the legislature of Alexandria is a democratically elected body.
Whereas the citizenry of Alexandria, as the electors, have the right to monitor the official proceedings of the legislature and its members.

Be it resolved that:
(1) The legislature forums shall be made open to the general public.
(2) Members shall post their votes for the public to see on bills presented for voting within the legislature.

REPRESENATION FOR RIO GRANDE ACT

(1) This act will increase the size of the Imperial Parliament from six (4) seats to five (5).

Jean Michel Leclerc - November 18, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
So the royals would become more like the British royal family? Good idea... although a tad contraversial!!

Russell duBois - November 21, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
The Progressive Democratic Party also represents these ideals. Co-operation between our two political entities would be essentially beneficial to our Empire.
